Hello CAs and tax professionals,

I’m trying to understand how CA firms and accounting practices manage document collection from clients, especially during GST filings, income tax returns, audits, and recurring compliance work.

Many firms use WhatsApp, email, and spreadsheets to collect documents. But tracking missing files, following up with clients, and requesting corrected documents can become time-consuming.

I’ve built DocReq, an early-stage document collection tool designed to simplify this workflow.

What DocReq currently offers:

- Create a document request checklist.

- Share a single upload link with clients.

- Track submitted and pending documents.

- Accept or reject submitted files with a reason.

- Allow clients to replace documents that need corrections.

- Track the request through completion.

I’m currently looking for feedback from 2–3 CA firms, tax consultants, or accounting professionals who are willing to evaluate the workflow using dummy documents.

I would appreciate your insights:

1. How do you currently collect and track client documents?

2. What is the most frustrating part of following up on missing or incorrect documents?

3. Would a dedicated document collection workflow like this be useful in your practice? What would need to change before you would consider using it?

I’m building this at an early stage and would genuinely value practical feedback from professionals who understand the day-to-day challenges of accounting practice.

Thank you!
