I have one query regarding Mvat on freight. For Example, A,a mumbai based dealer, Purchase goods as OMS. Some of these goods are given as gift. Invoice raised of these gifted goods bears only freight charges. Vat is charged on freight @5% whereas the goods come under the 12.5% schedule. Please clarify on what rate should VAT be charged on such freight ?? should it be equal to the charge on the goods or 5% is ok ??
