CA Preethu Jayaprakash journey has been nothing short of an adventure. Born on 30 April, 1994 in Kuttanadu to Jayaprakash and Radhamani, had been confined to a wheelchair from the time she could remember. She had been suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy(SMA) since she was 6 months old.

Due to her disability, Preethu Jayaprakash never stepped into the school campus. Owing to poor transportation facilities in her village, they had to depend on country boats to reach the town. And it was difficult for her mother to travel with her children every day. Thus, from schooling to college to CA course, Preethu Jayaprakash excelled in every stage by studying within the four walls of her house via home tuitions. It was only during exams that she appeared in school.

RIP CA Preethu Jayaprakash

She worked hard to achieve her dreams. She cleared her 10th exam with 88%. After choosing commerce for her Grade 11 and Grade 12, she scored 96% and took admission to a college nearby.

Post her graduation, she took up CA Course. She opted for some online crash courses along with YouTube videos that helped her crack the test. Understanding the importance of communication, Preethu Jayaprakash improvised on her language skills through movies and web series. Despite the disability she managed to clear the course in 5 years proving that nothing is impossible if one is determined and has the courage to chase the dreams.

Post qualifying as a CA, she worked as an associate solution advisor at the US-based company, Deloitte. She also served as a volunteer of 'Mind Trust', which was launched for the welfare of the differently abled. She also used to take tuition for the differently-abled students.

Last week, due to high fever, she was admitted to hospital. She was kept under ventilator and on 05.06.2022 at 7.55 a.m she succumbed to her illness.

Because of her achievements, she will always be remembered as someone synonymous with dedication, determination and hard work. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy will live on to inspire millions across the country to chase the dreams.
