FAQ :

The scheme provides treatment costs up to £1.5 lakh for a maximum of 7 days from the date of the accident.

It uses two platforms: eDAR for police accident reporting and TMS 2.0 for hospitals to manage treatment and payments. This integration ensures a smooth process from accident reporting to hospital reimbursement.

Hospitals already empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) are automatically designated. Additional hospitals can also be designated by States & UTs.

Hospitals are reimbursed through the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVAF). This fund is supported by contributions from general insurance companies for insured vehicles and budgetary support for uninsured cases.

While Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY is for pre-identified beneficiaries, the Cashless Treatment Scheme is open to any road accident victim, making it more broadly accessible.

After treatment, hospitals submit claims to the State Health Agency (SHA) for verification and approval. Payments are then made to hospitals within 10 days of approval.
