The following situations arise in each and everyone’s life.
We have always faced these situations and always made hard decisions.
(This is just about some particular person, different people will have different alternatives.)
1) Schooling
I passed my class 10th with good percentage. Got science stream and I had always liked doing things in science as they were very unique and interesting but had to pick up commerce as there were no science students in my family and therefore no proper guidance.
I still ask myself, should I have taken Science as my stream?
2) CA or any other field.
I am pursuing CA but always wanted to be a musician.
I was traveling by metro one day, on the left there was a band of musicians and on the other side there were corporate people wearing ties and suits.
Musicians were discussing about music (which I love), whereas corporate people were discussing topics about which I should have had knowledge because it was going to be my career.
I was confused as to which side to pay attention to?
3) Career
I am doing job but always wanted to be a partner in a firm.
I cleared my CA exams and got a good placement, but after few years of working in companies, I realize that I must have chosen to go for practice.
Now, I shall have a stagnant salary after a certain level and have to work each and everyday. If I were a partner, I could have work as and when I liked and have holidays as per my wishes. I could give my family more time.
I am confused as to how will I survive with the stagnant salary and no time for family?
I have always been fighting and my opponent has always been myself.
So what should I do now?
I have picked up a field and will pursue it.
Even if I took a wrong decision, I will make it right.
(The following discussion is about points covered above only.)
1) Schooling is over, so I should not worry about what stream I chose, because I have already proved that taking commerce and becoming a CA is worth taking up the stream.
2) I am happy that I am a CA and can play music as well, Music is my passion. If I become rich by being a CA, I will bring out my own album and not go places to beg for bringing out my music album.
3) I am doing job but side by side I shall also start some other works, and if they become successful I shall quit my job and make a career out of that and have time for family as well.
The only thing I have to remember is that, what other people will do shall be fascinating for me, but what I am doing is also fascinating for them.
