Hello Students

1. I cleared CA foundation with AIR- 31 in January 2018, then begins the journey of preparing for CA intermediate exams. I will divide this article into two part coaching phase and revision phase.

Coaching Phase

2. Initially I took classes subjects for 4 subjects, as there was no face to face classes so Online classes was only option.

3. I think before starting classes, one must be sure about duration of classes as time available is really short.

4. Out of 9 months 6 months will be devoted to coaching and atleast 3 months time shall be devoted for intermediate exams self study.

5. I will suggest start with first 4 subjects I took 3 subjects of group 1 and Audit from group 2 as Taxation class was not available in February.

6. Classes started from 6:30 AM in the morning and last tills 4:00 PM in the evening and you feel totally exhausted after so long classes.

7. Atleast try to revise what is taught in classes even though you won’t be able to remember it but it will be really helpful.

8.Take classes seriously, if you are going for self-study of any subject then decide what material you will be referring.

Revision Phase

  1. Start with positive mindset, if you start with negative mindset then you have failed yourself from day 1.
  2. Divide 3 months into 3 phases

First Revision

1.5 Month

Second Revision

1 Month

Third Revision

0.5 Month

First revision

Start with 3 subjects try to start with class notes, follow ICAI material only no need to refer any extra material.

Try to identify your weak subject in which you have to devote maximum time, for me it was EIS SM so I have devoted atleast 30 minutes daily for EIS SM.

Refer some certified copy to see how icai awards marks and what is presentation of toppers.

Second Revision

In this phase try to focus on topics in which you are weak and devote maximum to them.

Also try to write one mock paper along with revision phase.

Third Revision

Develop 1.5 day strategy, it is very crucial to have strategy in advance as syllabus is huge. Give one more Mock papers.

Exam Phase

Eat healthy, As keeping yourself healthy is most crucial in this phase. Try to revise as much as you can. Focus on your presentation as we have knowledge but we must know how to present in exam. In exam hall remain calm even if paper come tough try to find out which questions are easy to attempt.

Also, try to attempt every question as marks awarded for each step in exam.

All the very best future CAs.
