Recently CA-intermediate level result has been declared by ICAI and now the big question hammering in the mind of CA final students are 'where to apply internship?, 'whether to go for industrial training? 'Whether to self study or coaching classes?

As I am working in big Multinational Corporate, what I have been experiencing is now only bookish philosophy to become Chartered Accountant will not hire you anymore. As there are robotic automations happening from doing manual invoices to entry posting process. So, manual vouching and traditional auditing experience will not give you more bread & butter in future.

Professional competency is continuously increasing due to more students appearance, lower jobs, other well known professional courses and artificial intelligence. Many students sometimes are not able to manage the internship effectively with CA final studies.

Here, are some crucial tips to follow for CA students during internship;

Make your profile diversified:

In early-stage, take exposure of all area of work i.e, auditing, direct & indirect taxation, finance, banking etc. All domain exposure will help you to identify your area of interest and decide your career path accordingly. Majority of students eagerly awaiting Big Firms calls to apply for internship but remember ' Everything that glitters, not Gold'. Here, I am not against any big firms but make sure in which field you want to make your career as big firms will not provide you multiple domains of learning. Better to join mid size or small level firm initially.

Keep learning attitude rather than earning attitude

How CA-interns can be a polished industry professionals

Try to apply for industrial training:

In this competitive world, when everybody is desperately looking for good job, be picky one to reach at higher level in organization. Have you ever wondered why only few of them get desire job profile after becoming CA? The answer is 'Good industrial training'. It is the platform where you can apply your theoretical and practical knowledge into corporate culture.

Note that industrial training is not compulsory program like internship but it is value addition in the process of polishing interns to industry professionals. A candidate must intimate his principal at least three months before the date of commencement of ICAI industrial training. The period of training may range between a minimum of nine months to maximum of twelve months. An intern can serve as an industrial trainee amid the last year of practical training.

Connect with professionals:

In the 21st Century, social networking sites are emerging for better enrichment to the public worldwide. We all have the abilities and skills that require for a job but are they enough to fetch you a job in reputed MNC? Build your professional networking chain in early stage with the aid of social platforms like 'LinkedIn' and communicate with more people to improve your communication skills which will benefit in profession lifetime.

One way to build good connection is 'Network Marketing' but i will later explain more about it in my upcoming articles.

Self study or Coaching classes?
Many students are little in dilemma between self study or coaching. Let me tell you in simple words;

"You don't need to be in top 3 in your class; being in the middle is fine as long as your grades are not too bad', only this kind of person has free time to learn other skills".

In same manner, if you want to pursue some other professional courses like CS, MBA, CFA, CPA, CMA then get the support of good mentors or coaching classes whenever it becomes necessary. Attend regular lectures and read only ICAI study material for cracking CA final in very first attempt!!!
