How CA-interns can be a polished industry professionals?

Quick Summary
To excel as a Chartered Accountant intern and become a polished industry professional, it's crucial to go beyond traditional bookish knowledge. Embrace a learning attitude, diversify your experience across various domains like auditing, taxation, and finance, and consider industrial training for practical corporate exposure. Building a strong professional network through platforms like LinkedIn is also vital for long-term career growth.

Recently CA-intermediate level result has been declared by ICAI and now the big question hammering in the mind of CA final students are 'where to apply internship?, 'whether to go for industrial training? 'Whether to self study or coaching classes?

As I am working in big Multinational Corporate, what I have been experiencing is now only bookish philosophy to become Chartered Accountant will not hire you anymore. As there are robotic automations happening from doing manual invoices to entry posting process. So, manual vouching and traditional auditing experience will not give you more bread & butter in future.

Professional competency is continuously increasing due to more students appearance, lower jobs, other well known professional courses and artificial intelligence. Many students sometimes are not able to manage the internship effectively with CA final studies.

Here, are some crucial tips to follow for CA students during internship;

Make your profile diversified:

In early-stage, take exposure of all area of work i.e, auditing, direct & indirect taxation, finance, banking etc. All domain exposure will help you to identify your area of interest and decide your career path accordingly. Majority of students eagerly awaiting Big Firms calls to apply for internship but remember ' Everything that glitters, not Gold'. Here, I am not against any big firms but make sure in which field you want to make your career as big firms will not provide you multiple domains of learning. Better to join mid size or small level firm initially.

Keep learning attitude rather than earning attitude
