Due date must be extended. Even employees got Form-16 late. Need more time to prepare ITRs correctly.

No. Due date should not be extended. Otherwise there will be habit of seeking delayed filing spread throughout the taxpayers and the people related to the tax filing like employers, consultants, officers. I don't know what takes so much of time to file a return. Actually return should be ready in the month of april it self. It's existence of laziness within people's mind. First that attitude needs a change. Ok agreed that there were delayed in form 16 and other stuff. But that is just one part if the return. One can change that at any time. What I suggest is, keep the return prepared just pending to be uploaded. But the main concerning thing is many people starts thinking about tax planning and analyzing tax impacts in july.

yes last date should extend without late fees. Many govt employees can not get form 16 till now. DDO don't able to provide form 16 to his/her employees. so date should be extend.

due date must be extended. no imposition of late fee on tax payers who are not required to get the books of accounts are audited if returns are filed within the asst.year
