FM asks the Gujarat Chief Minister to help in evolving consensus on Goods and Services Tax (GST)
Gujarat Chief Minister, Shri Narendra Modi called on Union Finance Minister, Shri Pranab Mukherjee during the latter’s visit to Ahmedabad today. The Finance minister asked the Gujarat Chief Minister to help in evolving consensus on Goods and Services Tax (GST) so that it can be implemented with effect from the next financial year. The Finance Minister also asked the Chief Minister to discuss this GST related matter with his counterparts from other states to evolve an early consensus on this issue. The Gujarat Chief Minister extended his support on this issue. The Gujarat Chief Minister also submitted a memorandum to the Finance Minister containing certain specific demands relating to Gujarat State. The Finance Minister said that he will look into the same.
