what's the reason
Taxable as a salary income.
Principle and Article relationship is that of Employer and employee . Any sum received as a compensation for service rendered and where relationship of Employer and employee exist, then, compensation so received will be treated as a salary income.

There is no employer and employee relationship in case of article.... I think
I think . Article assistant does not fall under employer-employee relationship....
There is Principal and Student relationship between Article with principal. hence no salary is there.
