Receipt of bonus after resignation

Hi,

Please refer bonus payout policy of your previous employer regarding eligibility to receive bonus.

If the policy is silent, generally companies do not pay bonus when an employee leaves before the payout date.

Thank you for the reply.  The clause mentioned in my offer letter is " Each year your performance will be reviewed and if a performance award (bonus) is applicable, this will usually be paid in March for your assessed performance in the preceeding year"

No where in the offfer letter its mentioned that the employee should be on the payrolls of the company during the payout date.

It is a matter of bonus policy. Payout is always made as per bonus policy and not as per offer letter as offer letter do not have all the terms and condition for payout.

However, most of companies do not pay any bonus when the employee leaves the organisation. And, just for your knowlede, mostly companies do not pay the bonus if an employee is serving notice period on the payout date.

Thanks for the reply.  In my previous organization prior to this I also faced through the same scenario.  My last Working Date was 25-Feb-2014 and the company followed January-December as the financial year and the bonus payout was in April.  However I had received the bonus for the year 2014 and the bonus was credited to my bank account in the month of June'2015.

This is why I am bit confused this time.
