Notice received for not filing itr
Hi , My father received a notice under no section of income tax asking to submit income tax return for AY 11-12 .. my father has been filing returns for every year but he missed this one ... is this a general notice sent to many people ? I m just scared because we have never received any notice like this . There is no section number mentioned on notice .. is this a notice sent to thousands of people ? Please help

Yes, under non-filers programme, such notices are sent to all those having some recorded transactions, but who failed to file return. There is a warning at the last that if you do not reply to the notice action u/s. 148 may follow.
So, prepare financial statement based on bank statements and file return.....
alternatively you can prove that your taxable income was below the slab ,. if any
