Now you cannot file return for AY 2017-18.......
No penalty levied if your gross income had been below basic exemption limit i.e. 2.50 lakhs
In case of any AIR report, query may be raised by department, as such you would be able to file ITR
if someone's income is around 5 lakha and tds around 25000 can she file late return now? what is the penalty for late filling of return of AY 2017-18 after 31.03.2018?
Rough calculation shows refund around Rs.5000/- (unless income exceed 5L). Any 80C or other deductions?
So, calculate first the net tax liability and refund amount possible.
If you wish you can go for condonation request with department (little tedious). If the request is approved, you can file return without any penalty....
