If I receiv Money for Rs 10 Lacks from my friend as gift then what should be the tax payable to IT department

Please show the calculation

It is very pertinant to specify the ocassion when u receive ur gift and from whom.In ur case as u mentioned it is received from ur friend ,it is not exempt because  he is not come under category of relative for this purpose.but if u receive it on the occassion of marriage it is exempt and if not on the occassion of marriage it is taxable under the head income from other sources.Taxability is on normal terms i.e on income tax slab basis

The amount you have received from a friend of Rs. 10 lacs is not tax-free. You will need to show this as income from other sources. Gift deed will also be necessary.
