Filing of return for the previous years
Sir. I have a client. Who filed its return of income for the year 2006-07 only. After that not filed. It's a tax audit case. Can I file return of income for all the years from 2007-08 now. Please advice. Income exempt u/S 80 p

You cannot file any ITR for the year before or for AY 2015-16, unless any complience notice received from department. Can only file ITR of AY 2016-17 & AY 2017-18..... before March, 2018.

For such refund cases of older years, return filling permission can be obtained from Pr.CCIT/CCIT/Pr.CIT/CIT, Income tax department of your jurisdictional area, u/s. 119 (2)(b) of IT act......... by filling condonation request.
