My Friend you should know the Fact that CA is not a Degree, Nor does the Institute award any degree to any one, Yes You will get a Certificate of Passing the CA Exams & the Membership certificate of the ICAI which you have become a Member by Virtue of passing the CA Final Exams.

You will become member of the Institute only if you apply for Membership in Form 2 downloaded from the website. By virtue of passing the final examination, you only qualify as a Chartered Accountant and until you make an application to become member, you are not a member of the institute. The convocation certificates are issued only to those who apply for membership.

The convocation was held for members last month in various cities for those who cleared Nov 13 examination and also to other members who were not able to attend the previous convocation.

To apply for membership only, download form 2 from Institutes website, fill in the particulars, attest the relevant prescribed documents through a CA, draw DD for adequate fees as applicable and send your application to the decentralized office. Best wishes.

Thank you Mr. Satish for providing the information. I have already applied for membership and expect to get registered as a member within a fortnight. As per the information provided by you I think I will have to attend the next convocation, isn't it?

If you wish to attend the next convocation, surely you will be handed the Membership certificate by the ICAI president at the convocation ceremony. In case, if you were not able to attend the event due to any inevitable circumstances, still you will receive the certificate via post within one month from conclusion of convocation ceremony.

@ PS..... Ya It is not a degree but It is more than a degree specially than LLB.

Interim order passed that non-advocates cannot appear before VAT authorities or advertise services regarding filing of returns/ arguing

As an interim measure, we direct the respondents that no person whosoever, may be permitted to advertise in the Newspaper or any leaflet, inviting assesses for the purpose of filing of return or arguing before the authority under the VAT Act. Any person, who is not a registered advocate, shall not be permitted to appear before the Authority under the VAT Act
