Taxation of online marketing website transactions(urgent pls

This query is : Resolved

03 March 2014 Dear Sirs
I am going to start a website through which online selling and purchasing of goods made possible. (Like Filpkart, snapdeal etc. Which tax is applicable for me Service Tax of VAT

03 March 2014 both VAT and service tax apply. depends on how it is modeled. any service offered in addition to the good sold is chargeable to service tax.

03 March 2014 Thank you sir

But I have the doubt how VAT is applicable. Because in this case the buyer put orders to me through my site. I process the order and send it to the seller and seller directly send the goods to the buyer then I am providing the service as an agent.

Rgiht?

03 March 2014 well that depends on website to website....each follows its own model.

03 March 2014 Sorry Sir
The answer is not clear and not touch the point. Anybody else there to give me clear answer

03 March 2014 What i mean is that some websites only act as an agent or intermediary like snapdeal, flipkart etc. These websites dont sell anything on their own and merely act as a display portal. In such cases VAT should not apply.

But many websites sell in their ow name and issue invoices too. Ik such cases vat will apply
