Lessee - lease property - rental income

27 July 2012 Dear Sir,

If a house is taken in lease which generates income by way letting to another person, whether the income can be claimed as House Property Income under the IT Act. Please provide your valuable replies.

27 July 2012 Income Tax being revenue act does not bar the leasee from showing rental income. (Care be taken if you have the right to sub lease) Income Tax does not ask for this but this may be of general interest.
