Is liable to deduct tds

07 March 2012 dear frds/sir

i would like to your's view towards my practical ploblem.

Q an assessee having an government transaction like service tax payment, EPF payment through other named bank account

its mean that assessee first pay money to his consultant for paying these transaction. is assessee liable to deduct tax on amount paid to his consultant. further i would like to know also these transaction contravene any law saction if yes pls let me know.

07 March 2012 These transactions do not violate any provisions.

As regards TDS, if the consultant is charging a fees for the same and the total fees during the year exceeds Rs. 30,000/- then you are liable to deduct TDS @ 10%.
