Can Income Tax Act and Finance act be used interchangeably? if say, its writeen s.9(1)(i) of finance act. does it mean income tax act?

my articleship is completed on 22.05.10. uNDER THAT CA wheni joined on 23.03.09 at that time 316 days were left & i did articleship for 2 months. now my articleship has got extended for 10 months due to excess leave. now tell me can i go for Industrial Trainig. my articleship has got extended coz of leave & institute they are saying because of this you are not eligible for Industrial Training
