I am extremely thankful to you sir for your valuable response. There is nothing beyond whatever I have stated. And if at all something more is needed then I sincerely do not know what more details should be provided. Well my business still continues in a different name and I have not crossed threshold limits anytime since 2004-2005. Their letter had a title :SUMMONS WITNESS which also put me to worry since normally summons are issued after a notice, but in this case I have not received any notice. Can they ever merge two companies for service tax which may have different entity and operate from different premises and owners are husband-wife individually for each company? I must than you for your earlier guidance since I would plead ignorance and agree to pay the tax alongwith penalty. Can you also suggest as to what could be penalty like in terms of percentage. -
