Are I-T Forms Saral!

The Forms for Income Tax at present are most complicated to fill in for most taxpayers –it requires assistance from Chartered Accountants / tax practioners and TRP etc. One page, Saral Form for all tax payers must be re-introduced. An unnecessarily latest I-T form run into several numbers of pages and Form No 4 has 20 pages, but on print form from government’s website runs into 39 pages. Similar is the case with all other I-T Forms, as the numbers of pages of forms are much more than printed forms available otherwise. The total pages of forms must be same on print with software as filled by hand. And in most cases, columns and pages are blank –as nil or not applicable for most assessees. At least ,on print of the same nil / NA coloumns / pages must be deleted from it, as in case of Tally accounts prints it so happen.

As, I understand the Property Tax form in Delhi is of one page and users friendly, same should be case of all I-T Forms so that every assessees can fill himself without any assistance from anyone!

At present E filing is not the cup of all tax payers. Therefore, all tax forms and challans must be available on official website of tax departments for download in fill- able on computer and printable form (at present it is not so) -so that tax payers and fill them on their computers and take a print (avoiding hand written forms-no mistakes and most readable) to use them. Such a practice only shall facilitate the tax payments.
