MSME-MCA Internship Claim False: PIB Advises Citizens Not to Share Personal Information

Last updated: 14 July 2026

The Press Information Bureau's Fact Check Unit has warned citizens against a fraudulent Google Form being circulated on social media that falsely claims to offer an internship programme for doctors and professionals allegedly approved by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). According to PIB Fact Check, the claim is completely fake and no such internship programme has been announced by either ministry.

PIB Fact Check Debunks Viral Internship Claim

The misleading form has been widely shared across social media platforms, claiming to provide internship opportunities under the approval of MSME and MCA. However, PIB Fact Check clarified that no official notification, application form, or internship programme of this nature has been issued by the two ministries.

MSME-MCA Internship Claim False: PIB Advises Citizens Not to Share Personal Information

Authorities have urged citizens, students, doctors, and professionals not to trust such unverified messages and to avoid submitting personal or financial information through suspicious links.

Beware of Fake Links and Data Theft Risks

Government agencies have repeatedly cautioned the public against fraudulent schemes that misuse the names of ministries and government departments to collect personal information. Users are advised not to click on unknown links, download attachments from unverified sources, or share sensitive details such as Aadhaar numbers, bank information, passwords, or identity documents.

The PIB Fact Check Unit emphasized that authentic government announcements are published only through official government portals and verified communication channels.

Verify Before You Apply

The clarification comes at a time when legitimate government internship initiatives, including the official Prime Minister Internship Scheme, are available through designated government portals. Citizens should verify the authenticity of any internship or recruitment programme through official ministry websites before applying.

How to Report Suspicious Content

PIB Fact Check has encouraged the public to help combat misinformation by reporting suspicious messages, fake forms, and misleading social media posts for verification. Citizens can reach out to the PIB Fact Check Unit through its official fact-checking channels.

The government has reiterated that vigilance and verification are essential to preventing online fraud and misinformation. Users are advised to rely only on official government websites and verified sources for information related to internships, recruitment drives, and public schemes.
