As of 24th January 2022, the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) has successfully enrolled over 71 lakh subscribers during the financial year 2021-22. This significant milestone was announced by the Union Minister of State for Finance, Dr Bhagwat Kisanrao Karad. The APY, launched on 9th May 2015 and administered by PFRDA, aims to provide a universal social security system, particularly for the unorganised sector.

As of 24th January 2022, more than 71 lakh (71,06,743) subscribers have enrolled under the Atal Pension Yojana.
The Atal Pension Yojana was launched by the Government of India on 9th May 2015.
The scheme is open to all Indian citizens between the ages of 18 and 40 years who have a savings bank account with a bank or post office.
There are five guaranteed pension plan slabs available: Rs 1000, Rs 2000, Rs 3000, Rs 4000, and Rs 5000 per month, payable from the age of 60.
Upon the death of the subscriber, the same guaranteed pension is provided to their spouse by the Government of India.
