Invitation for Expression of Interest - Suggestions on reducing carbon footprints
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is the second largest professional body of Chartered Accountants in the world, with a strong tradition of service to the Indian economy in public interest. As one of the steps towards partnering in nation building, ICAI has constituted Sustainability Reporting Standards Board (SRSB) in February, 2020 with the mission to bring sustainability reporting and thinking within mainstream business practices both in the public and private sectors. Since inception, the Board has taken various initiatives and is working persistently for contribution towards attainment of the global call of sustainability by increasing awareness and implementing measures to improve sustainability.
The 21st World Congress of Accountants (WCOA) 2022, organized by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), is being hosted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). It is scheduled to be held from November 18-21, 2022, in India’s financial capital, Mumbai at the Jio World Convention Centre. SRSB is inviting expression of interest from external / third-party carbon offset agencies and carbon credit advisory firms who are engaged in measurement of carbon footprint, suggesting steps to mitigate carbon emission, facilitating implementation of steps, computation of carbon emission, offset mechanism and providing carbon neutral certification for the event.
Interested agencies are requested to send brief profile, nature of services provided by them and preliminary proposal, at sustainability@icai.in latest by June 30, 2022. SRSB will evaluate the responses and the shortlisted ones will be contacted for further discussion. It may be noted that the decision of the Board will be final in this regard.
