Government contemplate ban on Non audit services to audit clients

MCA may take serious steps to safeguard the interests of the Statutory auditors. Firms auditing the accounts of public interest entities such as listed or large unlisted companies could be debarred from providing non audit services to them.

Excise duty on Petrol and Diesel reduced by Rs. 5 and Rs. 10 respectively

The government of India has taken a significant decision of reducing Central Excise Duty on Petrol & Diesel by Rs. 5 and Rs. 10 respectively. Prices of petrol & diesel will thus come down accordingly.

CBDT issues refunds to more than 91.30 lakh taxpayers from 1st April to 1st November 2021

Income tax refunds of Rs. 33,548 crore have been issued in 89,53,923 cases &corporate tax refunds of Rs. 78,942 crore have been issued in 1,75,692 cases.

IT Department rolls out a new Annual Information Statement (AIS) on the Compliance Portal

The new AIS can be accessed by clicking on the link "Annual Information Statement (AIS)" on the new Income tax Portal. The display of Form 26AS on TRACES portal will also continue in parallel till the new AIS is validated and completely operational.

GST collection for October 2021 registered the second highest since implementation of GST

The gross GST revenue collected in the month of October 2021 is Rs. 1,30,127 crore of which CGST is Rs. 23,861 crore, SGST is Rs. 30,421 crore, IGST is Rs. 67,361 crore and Cess is Rs. 8,484 crore.

ICAI opens Registration for Online Home-Based Practical Training Assessment

ICAI will be conducting the next practical training assessment from 20th to 23rd November 2021. As such, students who have completed their 1st/ 2nd year of practical training during July 1, 2020 - September 30, 2021, are eligible to appear in this test.

More than 2.25 crore ITRs for AY 2021-22 filed on Income Tax e-filing portal till 28th Oct 2021

Over 55% of these ITRs have been prepared using the online form available & filed on the new portal. More than 1.95 crore ITRs for AY 2021-22 have been e-verified till 28th October 2021. Out of this, 86% were verified using Aadhaar OTP.
