Start reading from hand book and where ever u found some difficulty in any particular section or topic then refer only such section or topic from full text book.

I would refer Text Book.

And no doubt text book is better as it contain depth comprehension of every provision

Read the Detailed book if your exam in May 2012 and read the hand book if u are hard pressed for time!!!!

I would suggest go for AMIT KARIA's LAW BOOK titled LAW, ETHICS & COMMUNICATION (Bharat Publications)
Prcatical Problems are given very nicely.
60 case laws & 150-160 problmes are given.
The format of answering practical problems is also given. Even deeds & agreements are explained step by step.
Tricks for remembering section numbers are alos given.
