What is the best book to prepare IDT for CA final exams?

According to me the best book to refer for IDT is Bhangar...give more emphasis on case laws...All the best

dear anika, 1)the best way to approach IDT is to study vaitheeshwaran sir's book which explains intricacies involved in simple language.also, if possible go to ICAI library and try to access N.S.Govindan's IDTmade easy.That book contains sections sequentially with explanation in Gist after each chapter. 2)Alternatively, there is Paduka's publication for IDT which has hit the market.Friends say it is asusual excellent since the author is Saravanaprasad sir. While choosing the above alternatives b sure that u get the latest book, otherwise u will b studying outdated provisions. Any how 15days before exam start reading the important case laws and snippets that is available in this website under "sharefiles - May'08" which gives u enough confidence as also ur retrieving of ans. from ur mind becomes easy and sharp.

For DT, undoubtly, VG sir's notes are the best

here u should have a clear preference as to knowledge or passing or knowledge+passing...

if ur aim is to pass and get even exemption then the best book is none other than G.sekar's Book Padhuka's publication.I am sure that in that process if u incidentally gain some knowledge, the credit is yours and not even a small amt. of credit goes to the author.

If u have preference in gaining knowledge, then i dont have any idea, u should go for Singania and Ahuja books... but b sure that u pass only in Dt...

If u prefer Knowledge+passing then go for T.N.Manoharan. First u will gain knowledge say in 3 to 4 months... then passing objectives gain momentum...

If u have short span of time my suggestion is G.Sekar, which is set in Q&A format containing ques. of nearly 15yrs. of ca ques. and latest amended ans. . Added feature is Fast Track Referencer which captures provision in Gist.
