Hi, Need help please. Several years back I applied for minor PAN for my son. For some reason my auditor entered name "LASTNAME FIRSTNAME" while applying, so the 5th letter is "F" in pan card. Later I realised the mistake and changed the name to "FIRSTNAME LASTNAME" which is same in AADHAAR also. 2 years back when I applied for SBI minor account, the counter person pointed this mismatch. I also saw on youtube/twitter that 5th letter mismatch was an issue thru online KYC.

My questions are:

  1. Is the 5th letter and surname mismatch prevalent with other banks

  2. If so, should I just ignore this PAN (as it is not linked with aadhaar as my son is still minor) and apply for a new PAN card when he is 18 years? The issue is not Aadhaar-Pan mismatch but 5th letter mismatch with surname.

Maybe I am panicking because its for my son, I dont want him getting blocked out of banks in future for my fault.

Please help and share experiences.
