only for that question you wont be getting marks
remaining will be valued..
when i was new for ipcc ,even i used to think that if do not write this compulsory question remaining will not be valid since that is compulsory but that's wrong😂😂😂😅

When the institute mentions that the first question is compulsory, it means that, in case you donot attempt that question, you will be entitled to a maximum of 80 marks from the remaining questions. It means that when there is an option to choose questions and opt for choice, question 1 is not amongst them. If you choose to write all the remaining answers except Question 1 also, you can achieve only a maximum of 80 marks and will not be eligible for the other 20 marks. It does not mean that incase you leave the first question you wont qualify. There's no such thing. Don't worry.
Hope this helps :)
