What does

We are all aware that the Inst. of Cost & Works Accountant of India ( ICWAI ) is the certifying authority for certifying a Cost & Works' Accountant. Most of my friends' who are pursuing CWA ( as it should be known ) & many of the members' of the Inst. ( You can check their website for practicing Cost Accountants' ) call themselves as ICWA's... Many of my friends' although aware that the alphabet " I " would mean "Institute", still go with the flow 'coz, " That's the general lingo "... But some where down the line we aren't correcting those who make the mistake, including the general public... This according to me is awrong representation of one's qualification. It's like calling a CA, ICA or calling a CS, ICS... Don't you think so' ?

I would like to know your views' on the same...

I recently had a conversation with CA. S.K.Soman, who practices in New Delhi, who told me that the alphabet " I " in ICWA stands for " Indian ", so ICWA would mean " Indian Cost & Work's Accountant "... Although this is a valid point & actually fits' the bill, the next question I had ( which unfortunately I couldn't ask him ) was , then, Why do " Graduate Cost & work's Accountant's " write their qualification as " Grad. CWA ", shouldn't they be writing the their qualification as " Grad.ICWA"...???? Well, if their is any one pursuing CWA, I hope he could help us all here....
