Quick Summary
If you're filing ITR-4 under the new tax regime and need to report income from a house property, ensure it's listed as 'Let Out'. You may need to submit Form 10-IEA first if prompted by the portal. ITR-4 now allows reporting income from up to two house properties, provided you meet the eligibility criteria. If you encounter issues, check for incomplete mandatory fields or try using the latest online utility.

To resolve the issue in ITR-4 under the New Tax Regime, ensure the house property is listed as Let Out rather than Self-Occupied (as losses/interest deductions on self-occupied properties are disallowed). If the portal still requires Form 10-IEA, submit Form 10-IEA first via the portal's Income Tax Forms section before completing the ITR-4 form.

If you're on ITR-4, you should be able to report income from a rented residential house property. Since you haven't filed Form 10-IEA, you'll remain under the new tax regime, but that does not stop you from reporting rental income—it only affects your choice of tax regime. Also, ITR-4 now supports reporting income from up to two house properties, provided you otherwise qualify for the form. hot games

If the portal is not allowing you to enter the details, it may be a utility or validation issue rather than an eligibility issue. Try using the latest online utility or check whether any mandatory fields in the House Property schedule are incomplete.
