Total amout invested is Rs. 20000

12000 @ 12% interest is Rs. 1200

8000 @ 20% interest is Rs. 1600

Total investment Rs,20000 total interest Rs. 2800

Interest on total investment Rs. 20000 @ 14% = Rs. 2800

Average interest rate is 14%

hie

let the 2nd amount invested be x

interest on x @ 20% for 1 year is x/5

total interest earned= 1200+ x/5

now

1200+ x/5 = 14% of total amount

1200+ x/5 = 14/100 *( x+ 12000)

solve and get x= 8000

so total amount invested= 12000+8000=20000

good explaination

THANKS A LOT I GOT IT.....................THANKS
