Should I appear under Old/New Syllabus?

Hi

I want to appear for only one group in November 2010 (i.e. Group-1) and 2nd group I will appear in May 2011.

I have option to appear under Old syllabus in November 2010.

What do you suggest friends, Should I switch over to new syllabus from November 2010 exam itself since anyway I will have to appear in New Syllabus in May 2011 for 2nd group?

But just one thing confuses me....Are November 2010 old syllabus results expected to be linient because of it being last attempt or it will have no bearing on result of any kind?

Kindly throw some light on the issue at hand. I expect response from members also who have been in similar situations in past and are now qualified CA's.

Thanks and Regards

1. You must know what has changed subject-wise between the old and new course.

2. A result % of 3 in old course with mostly repeaters is not lower than 6% in new course.

3. Expect no mercy in last exam for old course. Status quo can be assumed.

4. Other things being equal, status quo is advised.

Individual group pass % are higher in Old course.

I am giving one group in Old course.

No one can predict the moves of ICAI. Maybe they clear studies, being the last attempt of old course, maybe they think of switching over everyone to new course by another similar result.

Think for yourself. I am giving in Old course.

in may 2002 approz 7500cleared ca final coz of  last old syllabus exam................but this time this is unimaginable......nowadays pass % is to low...........don't think of pass % n the like give ur best shot in upcoming examination ...........

Anyone with a different opinion?
