settlement of tax paid in wrong head

in case of tax paid in wrong head sm1 has to claim refund and pay? again in correct head or can he also take it in eligible ITC and pay again in correct head or he can only claim refund? plz clear that he has both option or not?

If you have liability to deposit Tax CGST/SGST, & by mistake you have deposited Under IGST ,then you have option :

In any case you have you have deposit the tax again Under CGST/SGST , else wont be able to setoff of your tax liability.

For wrongly deposit IGST : Either apply for refund or Can be adjust against any future tax liability to be deposit under IGST

@ Mr. Saurabh Kumar.,

If You are deposited wrong head but You can't set off and the balance is under "Cash Ledger" then You can claim the amount...

In case the amount set off then No way for get refund. You just rectify the mistake and get "Input Value Only in Credit Ledger.
