Hey, had a doubt regarding service tax exemption.if an assessee is emempted from service tax, it implies he does not have to collect and remit service tax only. is my understanding right or is he exempt from paying service tax on bills from HIS customers(i.e, services availed by him)?
pls clarify the above.. :)

exemption is limited to payment of service tax payable on services done by the assessee, he has to pay service tax for services used by him and billed by other service provider.
