what is the mean "NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING CONTAINED IN THIS ACT" ? WHAT IS THE EXACT MEANING OF THESE WORDS ?
AND ANYTHING TELL ME THAT AT CA SITS VERIFICATION STATUS INFORMATION IS GIVEN . WHAT IS THE USE FOR ME?
I HAVE PASSED THE SECOND GROUP OF PCC HELD IN NOV2009. AND I HAVE NOT ANY HARD COPY OF RESULT ISSUED BY CA INSTITUTE..... PLEASE INFORM ME CORRECT INFORMATION.

exact meaning of ‘Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act’ means such a concerned provision will have an specified effect irrespective of whatever mentioned in Act.
I give you an example.. Directors placed by Central Govt. on Board panel (may arise in case of oppression / mismanagement ETC.) will not be liable to retire by rotation notwithstanding anything contained in
It means, as generally in Public Co. directors are liable to retire by rotation, but these special directors will not be liable to such provision even if it is mentioned in Co. Act.
