1. If I register a partnership firm with a particular name, can any other "company" or "firm" can be legally formed with the same name?? if yes then is there anything that has to be done (along with the partnership firm registration) to protect the identity of the firm?

No Patnership firm can register with the same name of already registered firm with the registerar.
