Are old PAN numbers not yet updated in the system? While trying to register for efiling, my fathers PAN number which was issued around 20 yrs back, the system is saying that it is an invalid PAN no.
Do he have to go with normal filing only, or is there is other problem?.

Hi,
if your father has not filed his returns for the last 20 years the ITO may strike out the PAN from the list.Contact your ITO and request him to release the PAN.
