NRE interest taxation policy

166 views 2 replies

I earned interest on NRE account last financial year.

But I spent more than 182 days in India last financial year, came back from abroad in August. After I came back, converted the NRE account to a normal savings account in Januray.

Does I need to pay tax on that interest earned on NRE account ?
