no notice of bm was sent

Section 286 provides the provision related to board meetings notice.

If notice is not given, every officer of the company is liable for punishment upto 1000 Rs.

Note: I have assumed that, director didn't attend the meeting as he didn't receive the notice. So, he is not aware about meeting.

To rectify the mistake do this, Insert in the minutes of board meeting that, due to oversight Company could not give the notice to director

or

Convience the director about the mistake made by company & insert in minutes that the director has taken the Levae of absence.
