If GTI More than basic exemption limit:-

For A/Y 2008-09 return can file upto 31 Mar 2009 without any penalty.

After that 5000 Penalty is there. Return can file upto 31 Mar 2010.

If GTI is Less than Basic Exemption Limit:-

For A/Y 2008-09 return can file upto 31 Mar 2010 without any penalty.

Agree wiyh Raveesh if not filling within due date is due to reasonable reason.

Dear frds., here Mr. Raj Kumar has not mentioned whether 145000 is his GTI or TI.

So, u can not say he can file return without any penalty.
