How to score 60+ in law of final

Final 1871 views 13 replies

Hi Friends,

I bought the hand book of Munish Bhandari for Law in last week but found that it does not contain the case laws/Questions etc. I was planning to perform well in this paper and score 60+, but after referring this book found that this book won't be enough for scoring this much marks.

I would need your advice friends, what should be the strategy to score 60+. Please advise, will practice manual be enough with this handbook or would have to refer some other book too.

Regards

Deepak Arora

Tips to Prepare for LAW ( IPCC & CA Final )

1. I would not suggest to refer modules in Law as they are old and expired.

2. Many times you are afraid of how to remember Section no’s and all … I suggest you no need to remember all sections only fundamental sections are enough to remember. The most important thing is what is inside sections.

3. Refer a good book like I suggest Munish Bhandari(Main Book) & PM PLUS RTP

4.It would be difficult to write the way modules are written but it is very much advisable in this subject. You can practice at home.

5.Refer only one book as more then one will create lot of confusions.

6.You can not write anything in this subject else you know the law i.e. No “tukka maro Theory“ in this subject.

7.Slogan funda’s will not work here and I suggest you not to try out slogans in Law.

8.Prepare a list of important sections and stick to your study board and revise it as many times (Proved 100% successful). Make a Chart of Section serially. Your “rutta theory” may work here as there is no concept in remembering sections.

9.Refer suggested answers or scanners to know the trend in exam i.e. which chapter is more important and which is less, you can even read in that order.

10.Understand how to answer questions based on Case Studies. Take reference guide from previous attempts answer patterns.
Complete a particular topic and try to solve past year question on that topic without help of books.

11.Check the pattern of question paper, instructions. Are there any changes? It’s essential that you are aware of the paper style.

12.Make sure that all your notes are arranged systematically.

13.Take short breaks and study. Without break you can not get more output from your studies.

14.It is not important how many hours you study; it is more important how well you have studied.

15.Time yourself while you are studying. It’s essential that you finish one chapter and take 5 minutes break to do anything of your hobby to make you fresh (Listen Music)

16.Talk less to keep only specific thoughts in your mind as during exam time less you talk and more you walk will keep you

17. weight ur answers not ur answer sheets always write answers in breif dont consider it as bcom exam .

Why do you say that?? The study modules of law relevant for May 2015 are fully revised and updated. Before commenting on something, pls do ensure that u hv got ur facts right.

agreed... But do ask students... how many of them have the new updated modules, because mostly students registered in final quite before exam times, so your attempt and updated module doesnt match mostly...

thats the only reason i said dont go for module, else if u have updated one.. u can go..

but stil for law in mah views reference books are quite better and understanding then in comparison with modules.. so stil my advice is same

The Institute module this time is quite student friendly. Though doing the entire module is not possible keeping in mind the shortage of time but a few selective important chapters can be done from therein. The rest can be done from any reference book of your choosing + pm.

@ Ankit Bohra

Ok now I got what you are saying. But many will misintrepret what you had written under point 1(like I did) and be under the impression that the study modules arent updated by ICAI according to the new act.  If you feel that the study material isnt good enough and so doesnt matter whether it is updated or not, you can actually drop point no.1 from your tips since the whole point is irrelevant. Or else pls at least reframe point 1 so that it doesnt appear that the current ICAI study modules arent updated. Anyway you dont need to specificaly stress on the fact that the modules purchased earlier arent relevant now. Every student appearing in this attempt will be aware that the study modules which he had received at the time of registration are based on the old Act and are outdated. It is such an obvious fact! And nobody prevents the student from purchasing the new edition of the modules if he wishes so. There may be a minority who have decided to study from the modules and what you have written may mislead many to think on lines that the present modules arent updated whereas the fact is that the new modules are better revised and error free than many of the reference books.

Hi Deepak, I am really sorry but I amnt really competent to advise you on any exemption strategy. Actually me and my friend had purchased Munish Bhandari main book and had started studying therefrom. It is a comprehensive book and pretty good too. But later on I saw a post in caclub forum where one guy had pointed out regd some mistakes in Munish Bhandari. So I thought of not taking any risk with MB and started studying from the module. My friend is continuing with MB but is planning to quickly go thru study module after finishing MB in order to check for any errors in MB(if time permits). I am doing the opposite of this. I read from study module first and then do a quick read of the corresponding chapter in MB. If I find anything useful for exam purpose in MB which isnt in the ICAI study modules, I would just underline that part in MB. All this may appear quite a messy strategy(even I feel so) but this is what we are doing.

Hi Ayush, here is the forum post where I had read about the errors in Munish Bhandari book. Pls check this link and read the replies by Mr.Kishor Bhat. /forum/munish-bhandari-321845.asp#.VQfCPdKUetc He has given only one instance of an error under the dividend chapter, which I cross-checked and found him to be correct. He is saying there are several such instances under MB. I dont know whether there are any more errors but the one mistake in dividend chapter was enough for me to switchover from MB to ICAI study modules.

Don't go for Munish Bhandhari Sir Book especially for May 2015 Exams.

Better to opt ICAI Study Material this time.
