Dear professionals,

I have decided to invest my earnings into blue-chip shares as a long-term investment. Would anybody guide me regarding a scientific way of picking up a blue-chip stock which would earn a handsome return in the long-term ?

Warm Regards,

Select from BSE Sens*x 30 or NSE Nifty 50 for safe and sound investments.

Check Price/book (ideally select stock with less than 1)

Also look at PE ratio, compare with the industry and see if you get a good share for less PE than the peers.

Having said this, stock picking involves lot of background work on the company and its fundamentals.

Go With the Fundamentals of the Company. Look out the following:

1) Strategy of the company for future growth

2) Overall Industry Performance

3) Look where FDIs are investing Money

1. Don't Listen to your friend, philosofer, guide or broker etc.....

2. Do your own study before investing.

3. Keep watching the specific stock and their movements.

4. Always be alert about (price)/ sensitive information for specific company/ stock.

5. Watch CNBC Aawaaz, ET NOW, ZEE Business channels to get some ideas.

6. Do not invest your all saving in stock market.

7. Do not invest all money in one stock only, bifurcate it within 3-4 stocks.
