What are the possible outcomes if not done GMCS 1 during 1st year of articleship training???

Till date ICAI has not prescribed any adverse consequences for non-completion of GMCS-I within the stipulated time. However, ICAI has extended the deadline, for a third time, to 31.12.2015 vide announcement dated 02.03.2015 (link).
