Donation reciept for 80g

Receipt is more authentic proof for claim of its deduction......... and all  these NGO's issue E-receipts by e-mail, which is valid.

Thank you for your reply, in that case i have to contact NGO and request for reciepts which may or may not be possible as it was small amount donations, but my opinion is , if donation is done online and if statement reflects the NGO name that should be a valid proof. Say i have online statement for 12 donations made and for last one i have receipt , that should be a valid proof. Regards, Vir

Contact the NGO. They will definitely provide you the receipts. Every organisation which takes donation do so without any problem. They know the significance of issuing receipts to donor. Even though your bank account reflects NGO name is not sufficient. It is also not valid to claim deduction for 12 donation based on one receipt and bank statements. The receipt will prove that the payment you have made to NGO is actually a donation which qualifies for tax deduction. The bank statement will only show that you have paid amount to NGO. But whether those payments are towards donation or on any other account will not be proved from bank statement
