Dear sir, My brother is an Overseas citizen of India having dual citizenship. He stays in Canada. He is about to get ₹50.00 lakhs from Govt. as Land acquisition Compensation.
My question is
Does he need to pay the Income Tax in India ?
If he is, how to pay and how much amount to pay.

from which government he is getting compensation?
if it is from indian government then is it urban agriculture land or rural land?

For this purpose please refer the tax treaty between india and Canada on capital gain
