There is one suggestion to the students :

.

Costing  is not a subject of just passing. Everyday we apply cost control at our home. 

.

For better understanding; try to link all the expenditure of direct cost - material, labour etc. and  indirect cost - i.e. overheads with day-to-day family expenses. 

.

Examples are : 

1. Kitchen Expenses ( Wheat, Oil, Milk, Spices etc.): Direct Expenses

2. Rent of Home : Indirect Expenses - Overheads

.

Each one would be able to understand the subject easily. 

.

After having a basic link with our own expenditure; then focus on learning with reference to industry to have command over the subject.
