Civil Service for qualified CA

i hav got an oral information  frm my frnd dat qualified chartered accountants have some previlages in Civil service exams.. like they dont need to write prelims of civil servise.. is dat true???

Achyuth, there is no such provision that qualified CAs be given some special treatment for civil services.  However, my personal view is that CA/CA/ICWA is no less than an IAS etc. 

There are handful of IAS officers and bucket full of CA's . CA exam is bit risky but IAS is highly uncertain. I have seen guys who couldn't clear the pre exam despite being a qualified CA. IAS is India's No 1 job ... It's a dream millions have but very few reach to the top.

thank u guys.... but in the prospectus that is given to me by ICAI while registering for CPT says that "Qualified CA's are eligible for admission to civil Service Exams., which is conducted by Commission for recruitment oto IAS, IPS and othe Group A/ Group B central Services / Posts."

wat does this mean... does it mean that CA have an upper hand on Civil Servise exams???
