is it possible to change PAN number for proprietorship under gst portal.

No.. As per my view PAN can't be changeable.

you are required to apply new gst and apply as take over existing gst.

what is the purpose of changing PAN card number in GST registration?
GST registration is based on pan number.

portal have taken wrong number

if you want to correct it , cancel the existing registration and take new GST registration with the correct Pan card number. This is only my view. Experts can give their view.

Contact Your Ward /Circle Officer about the mismatch of PAN....

*** In case if You think any of the Points for Cancellation then Better to take Decisions before the cancellation for "ITC, STICKS, OUTSTANDING LIABILITY TO GSTN and RETURNS".
